Sperry
Sperry is my latest robotics project—a four-wheeled robot designed to redefine intuitive control and bring gesture-based navigation to life. Here’s how it works: Force-Sensitive Driving: When I press a force-sensitive resistor (FSR), Sperry enters “driving mode,” responding to the orientation of my arm. Gyroscope-Controlled Navigation: A gyroscope strapped to my hand tracks the angular velocity of my arm, while the accelerometer measures acceleration along each axis. Using a simple complementary filter, I calculate the orientation of my arm, which is mapped directly to the robot’s movements. Wireless Communication: All data is transmitted seamlessly via a Bluetooth module, enabling precise, real-time control. The hardest part of building Sperry was soldering everything onto a compact board. With 52 solder joints packed into a small space, ensuring clean connections became a true test of patience and skill. Unintentional short circuits were a constant challenge, turning every fix into a puzzle. This process gave me a whole new appreciation for the art of clean and efficient circuit design. Building Sperry has been an incredible journey, an integration of hardware, coding, and problem-solving. It also marks another step forward in my gesture control system projects.

Nimbus is a drone designed with precision and advanced technology at its core.
